Standards based reporting was successfully implemented in grades kindergarten through fifth grade during the 2006-2007 school year.  Teachers work collaboratively each trimester to monitor student academic progress in English Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, History/Social Science, and Physical Education.  Students' proficiency scores allow students, parents, teachers, and administrators to track student learning of grade level standards.

As we move from awareness to implementation of the Common Core State Standards next year, we must revise the SBRC to align with the Common Core State Standards.  Teachers will be working on this task through our Leadership Teams: Math, Literacy and Kindergarten.

Parents will be kept informed through the school newsletters, websites and site-based parent meetings.

3 - Meets
Student demonstrates consistent understanding of the simple and complex ideas and processes.  There are no major errors or omissions when identifying and articulating the key concepts of the content.

2* - On Pace to Meet Standard
Student demonstrates understanding of the simple and complex ideas and processes that have been presented at this point in the year.  The student is on pace to meet the end of year standard.

2 - Approaching
Student demonstrates understanding of the simple ideas and processes.  There are no major errors or omissions when identifying and articulating the key concepts of the content.  However, the student demonstrates little understanding of the more complex ideas and processes with major content errors or omissions.

Student demonstrates little understanding of the simpler ideas and processes and no understanding of the complex ideas and processes.  There are major errors or omissions when identifying and articulating the key concepts of the content.
