Meet the Principal

Suzanne Cicala is excited to join the Bishop community as the new interim principal and to contribute to the ongoing success of the students.  Ms. Cicala believes in establishing shared values and high expectations, as well as, empowering students, parents and teachers in leadership.  She looks forward to creating interactive, engaging and meaningful learning opportunities with such a dynamic school.

Prior to joining the Bishop team, Ms. Cicala spent two summers at Bishop as the Summer School Principal.  During the school year, she was a Sunnyvale School District Instructional Coach.  In that role, she provided professional development for teachers through coaching, workshops and seminars.  She facilitated the district's Math Leadership Team and worked with teams of teachers in the development and implementation of curriculum and assessments.  Ms. Cicala also worked extensively with both the elementary and middle school Standards Based Report Card Committees in the development of report card key standards and rubrics.

Ms. Cicala has thirteen years of teaching experience and has taught second through fifth grade. As a teacher, she was a member of various site and district committees, including Site Strategic Planning and the district's Arts Committee.  She worked for the Bay Area California Arts Project as well, training teachers in how to implement arts lessons in their classrooms.  She completed her M.A. in Education Administration and Supervision and her teaching credential at San Jose State University and received her B.A. from UCLA.  Ms. Cicala is also a National Board Certified Teacher.

Class Lists

Class lists will be available to students and parents on Tuesday, August 21 after 5:00 p.m. and will be posted on the doors of the cafeteria facing the main courtyard at the front of the school.
