Parent Teacher Association (PTA)

Cumberland PTA's prime mission is to support and enhance the overall learning experience of all children at Cumberland. Our PTA partners with the school to provide programs that enrich each student's learning experience. We are a unit of the non-profit California PTA. Some of the functions that the PTA provides include:

  • Organizes volunteers to assist students, teachers, and staff.
  • Raises money to buy equipment and fund enrichment programs.
  • Holds monthly meetings to increase communication between parents and school staff.
  • Provides educational programs on topics of interest to parents and teachers.

The PTA Finance Committee is responsible for developing budget recommendations for the PTA. All requests for PTA funds must be reviewed by this committee before they are voted on in the PTA. If you have a budget request, please submit a Budget Request Form by the Wednesday before a Finance Meeting.

We need Volunteers! Cumberland is always looking parent volunteers to work inside or outside the classrooms in many different ways. Please read through the PTA Job Descriptions, and the FAQ document. The list of Committee Chairs for 2012-2013 is available in the PTA handbook.

PTA Meetings are usually held on Tuesdays in Room C, swapping between morning (8:20am) and evening (7:00pm) meeting times.
