Jarvis E. Bishop Elementary School is located in the suburban city of Sunnyvale, California, 45 miles south of San Francisco. Bishop School is the oldest school in Sunnyvale. It is one of eight elementary schools in the Sunnyvale Elementary School District.
The history of Bishop School parallels the development of the public school system in Sunnyvale. Located near the central business district, shopping centers, and several community parks, many businesses, community services, government services, theaters, libraries, colleges, museums, and public transportation are readily available to Bishop School. The high-tech industry is the primary source of income in the area. Housing in the Bishop area is made up of primarily working parents and senior citizens who have lived in the area for many years.
