Message from the Principal

 

Welcome to Ellis Elementary School, the home of the Eagles! The Ellis staff believes

in our mission which is learning for all. We have integrated the structure of a

professional learning community to assure groups of teachers are focusing on

essential learnings, using assessments and  data to determine the needs of each

student, and improving instructional practices by attending  professional

development opportunities.

 

 We are guided by the Seven Correlates of Effective Schools:

 

 1) Providing a safe and orderly environment that promotes learning

 

 2) A climate of high expectations for success

 

 3) Strong instructional leadership

 

 4) A clear and focused mission

 

 5) Opportunity to learn and student time on task

     The entire Ellis staff is committed to ensuring your child’s day is focused on reading,

    writing, solving problems in math and science, and exposure to the arts in a

    nurturing, supportive environment. We  shall recognize achievements in both

    academics and social growth.

     

     We recognize and respect that parents are the first teachers of their children. As

    partners in your child’s education we would encourage you to consider the following:

     

    • Meet with your child’s teacher frequently
    • Spend time with your child reading and writing
    • Model your love of learning
    • Recognize and praise the effort your child dedicates to their schoolwork
    • Help them see that effort in preparing and practicing often results in academic gains
    • Please celebrate your child’s achievements in learning
