Student success
and safety are priorities at Columbia Middle School. Students can help
to accomplish these goals by following some basic rules:
Attend all classes on time.
Follow all classroom and school rules.
Dress appropriately.
Refrain from bringing electronic devices to school.
Use appropriate language.
Respect themselves, other students, staff, and school property.
To further accomplish the goals of student safety
and success, we have a policy of ZERO TOLERANCE, which states, "Anyone
who is involved in a physical fight, regardless of who started the fight,
will be suspended from school."
The Sunnyvale Board of Education has adopted a Resolution of Zero Tolerance
for violence, weapons and drug possession on the school campuses or at
school activities off campus. Weapons or drugs of any kind brought onto
the school campus will result in a recommendation for expulsion from
the district.
