Elective Classes - Band - Teacher: Mr. Golden

Intermediate or Advanced Band (7th, 8th)
Become part of a great group and have fun while working hard to become a great player! These are exciting and challenging band classes for 2nd, 3rd, or 4th year band instrument players. Music includes movie themes, pop tunes, fun songs and more serious music. Drum Instruction is available, but students must also continue with another instrument as well. Both bands travel for out-of-school performances. Advanced Band (and possibly Intermediate Band) will also perform at local competitions and festivals. Intermediate and Advanced Band are two separate classes. If you are a new 7th or 8th grader to Columbia, contact Mr. Golden at 522-8247 for placement.

Beginning Band (6th)
Become part of a great group and have fun with your friends while learning to play an instrument! Learn to play the flute, oboe, clarinet. saxophone, trumpet, French horn, trombone, baritone, or tuba. Drum instruction is also available while you learn one of these instruments. Includes field trips and out of school performances.

Note: Students are required to take band for the full year. At home practicing is required. Some instruments are available for check-out.
