Reading Log
- Students are required to read a total of 120 minutes per week at home - and average of 30 minutes per night Monday through Thursday. Students may read more minutes for extra credit. These logs need to be signed by a parent or guardian and turned in on the due dates.
- Please monitor your son or daughter's reading at home and make sure they fill our and turn in these logs. They constitute a big part of the report card grade.
Silent Reading
- Students are also assigned to read daily in class - approximately 30 minutes per day. Research has shown that reading for pleasure increases vocabulary and comprehension. During this time, students may read books only - not magazines and newspapers.
Homework
- Weekly Reading Logs.
- Study for Friday spelling tests.
- Work not finished in class; other assignments.
Grading
- Mrs. Berridge enters her grades on a computerized program called "Making the Grade". Progress reports for students achieving below a "C" average will be sent out mid-quarter.
- The final grade is made up from the average of the following: class work, homework, reading log, writing journal, essays, quizzes, and tests.
| A = 90 - 100% |
