The School Site Council (SSC) meets monthly to approve, monitor and evaluate the School Improvement Plan, the budget and guides school activities throughout the year.

The English Learner Advisory Committee (ELAC) advises the principal and staff of the development of the school plan for English Language Learners submitted to the District School Board.

The Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) and individual parent volunteers help the school in many ways. With parents and teachers working together, the PTO is able to raise funds and plan activities to benefit Lakewood students.

The Sunnyvale Public Safety Department actively supports Lakewood School by providing student assemblies to promote safety education and positive personal conduct.
