NETS Standard 1: Use
input devices (e.g. mouse, keyboard, remote control) and output devices
(monitor, printer) to successfully operate computers, VCRs, audiotapes,
and other technologies.

Possible Integration Strategies:
- a. Reading: Listen to, read, recognize,
and discuss various forms of literature.
- Use a mouse, and/or keyboard to navigate
through a piece of educational software

b. Number Sense: Identify, describe, and compare triangles, rectangles,
squares and circles. The student will explore numbers, shapes, sizes, patterns, addition and
subtraction with a program such as Edmarks: Millie’s Math House.

program using the computer.

NETS Standard 3:
Communicate about technology using developmentally appropriate and
accurate terminology.
Possible Integration Strategies:
a. Language Grammar: Begin to expand
sentences. The student can identify components of
computer systems.
b. All curricular as appropriate: The student is introduced
to various types of mass media (including billboards, newspaper, radio,
and television).
NETS Standard 4: Use developmentally
appropriate multimedia resources (e.g., interactive books, educational
software, elementary multimedia encyclopedias) to support learning.
- Possible Integration Strategies:
a. Reinforce basic, remedial, and advanced concepts using a
variety of programs, software, videos, and listening centers. The student can operate pull down windows. He
is introduced to early keyboarding functions, including the spacebar,
shift, delete, and return keys

software the student will add detail to his writing. By using Kid Pix or
other software the student is aware of advanced multimedia technologies
that can be used to enhance projects and presentations.
