Dear Sunnyvale School District Families,
I hope this message finds you well as we settle into the new school year.
It has been truly wonderful to see so much community building happening across our campuses. From Back-to-School Nights and Welcome Back Picnics to ice cream socials and coffees with the principals, it is heartwarming to see connections being made—all in service of our students and you, our families.
As the energy of the new year continues to build, our sports programs are getting underway, and following the Labor Day holiday, September 2 will be the first full day of school for our transitional kindergarten students.
I would also like to connect with you directly and invite you to two different Superintendent Meet and Greet opportunities. The first will be on Tuesday, September 9, from 9-11 a.m. at Columbia Middle School. The second opportunity will be on Thursday, September 25, from 6-8 p.m. at Sunnyvale Middle School.
I hope to see you there and look forward to connecting with you.
Our Board of Education is actively building stronger connections with our community and taking steps to ensure every family is well-informed and fully supported. We will be hosting a virtual Immigration Workshop, including a Know Your Rights presentation and other legal resources. It will be Sept. 17 at 6:00 p.m. in Spanish. Estimadas familias del Distrito Escolar de Sunnyvale,
Espero que este mensaje les encuentre bien mientras nos adaptamos al nuevo año escolar.
Ha sido verdaderamente maravilloso ver cómo se está construyendo comunidad en todos nuestros planteles. Desde las Noches de Regreso a Clases y los Picnics de Bienvenida hasta las convivencias de helados y los cafés con los directores, es conmovedor ver cómo se crean conexiones—todo en beneficio de nuestros estudiantes y de ustedes, nuestras familias.
A medida que la energía del nuevo año continúa creciendo, nuestros programas deportivos están comenzando, y después del feriado del Día del Trabajo, el 2 de septiembre será el primer día completo de clases para nuestros estudiantes de kínder de transición.
