The Sunnyvale School District’s Community Bond Oversight Committee (CBOC) held its first meeting of the school year on September 5, 2025.
This group is made up of volunteers from across the community. Its role is to provide transparency and accountability to the public by ensuring that bond money and parcel tax funds are spent only on the specific projects and programs approved by voters. Bond funds are dedicated exclusively to school construction projects, renovations, safety, and technology upgrades, whereas parcel tax funds are dedicated to educational programs and operational costs.
At the recent meeting, the committee reviewed CBOC members' duties, reviewed parcel tax and bond projects expenditures, and received bond project updates and progress against the District’s Facilities Master Plan, which outlines needed renovations and maintenance over a 10- to 15-year period.
The committee meets four times per year. The Committee’s next meeting is scheduled for December 5, 2025.
We are grateful to the CBOC for its partnership in ensuring we are doing our best for our students and our community, and to the voters who make this work possible.
