Dr. Christina Ballantyne, Director of Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment, has been twice honored by the Fulbright Program. She was selected to receive a prestigious Fulbright Teacher Exchange Award for the 2025–2026 cycle, with an acceptance into the Fulbright Leader for Global Schools program.
Dr. Ballantyne was one of only 20 administrators from 12 states and the District of Columbia selected as a Fulbright Leader for Global Schools. Through this experience, as well as through her work as part of this year’s Fulbright Teacher Exchange, Dr. Ballantyne will share her expertise while learning from and collaborating with fellow professional educators from around the world.
“Dr. Ballantyne’s Fulbright awards are an extraordinary honor, and a reflection of her commitment to fostering curiosity, collaboration, and a global perspective for our students,” said Dr. Gudiel R. Crosthwaite, Superintendent of Sunnyvale School District. “We are so fortunate to have her on our team, sharing her knowledge to benefit our students every day, and we are proud that she will represent our district and community on an international stage.”
Since 1946, the Fulbright Program has provided more than 400,000 students, scholars, teachers, and professionals opportunities to teach, study, and conduct research abroad. Fulbright Teachers engage in cultural exchange, working to address today’s global challenges through education. Over its history, the program has produced 62 Nobel Laureates, 93 Pulitzer Prize winners, 82 MacArthur Fellows, 44 heads of state or government.
