Community Forums regarding New Superintendent

The Board of Education of the Sunnyvale School District is in the process of conducting an Executive Search for purposes of hiring the District’s next Superintendent. Leadership Associates was selected to advise the Board in this important process. They will be in our district on January 22 and January 23 to facilitate several sessions with various groups within our district’s community to receive input about the desired qualities and characteristics of the next Superintendent. This input will be a valuable contribution to the recruitment and selection process.

 

The District will also be hosting Community Forums, which are open to all the public. No appointment is necessary to participate. These forums are an opportunity for the public provide input and to hear more about the search process.

 

Community Forums will be held on Wednesday, January 22, 6:30-7:30 p.m., District Office Boardroom, 819 W. Iowa Avenue and on Thursday, January 23, 6:30-7:30 p.m., at Columbia Middle School Staff Lounge, 739 Morse Avenue and Sunnyvale Middle School Staff Room, 1080 Mango Avenue.

 

The following questions will be presented during these sessions:

 

  1. What personal and professional qualities for an incoming superintendent will be a match for the Sunnyvale School District?

 

  1. What are the strengths of the District, and what are the challenges you see for the District in the coming years?

 

Additionally, an online survey will be open from January 20 through 4 p.m. January 30, and will be available on the District’s website and via a link that will be shared on the 20th of January. If you are not able to access the online survey, you may forward your written responses to these two questions to:
