DIGITAL FORM: Sunnyvale School District uses a digital platform to manage school volunteers Better Impact For Schools!
Each volunteer will create a user account to submit a volunteer application and upload their valid TB test. All volunteers must be approved by our district office BEFORE you are able to start volunteering at Vargas. Volunteer clearance is only valid for the current school year. You must submit a new digital Volunteer Form each school year.

HOW TO SUBMIT A VOLUNTEER FORM:
- Create a user account at the Better Impact For Schools website.
- Submit your digital volunteer application and a valid TB test.
**Make sure to include all of your children, even if they are in another Sunnyvale School District school.
APPROVAL PROCESS:
- After you submit your application, you will receive a confirmation of submission email from Better Impact.
- The volunteer approval process starts at the District Office. They will review your form, your TB, and fingerprint clearance through the Department of Justice.
- Once the District approves all the above, the record is sent to Ms. Salas for review and approval.
- Once your volunteer form is approved, you will receive another email from BetterImpact stating that you have been approved.
- The process may take up to three weeks. Please plan accordingly. Forms cannot be expedited.
AFTER YOU HAVE BEEN APPROVED:
- Please contact your child’s teacher to receive further instruction on your volunteer assignment.

TB TESTS & FINGERPRINTING:
- TB test results are valid for four years.
- Each TB test must show the following:
- Name of volunteer
- Date test given
- Date test read
- Induration of reading
- Test result
- If you are submitting a TB risk assessment form
- Must include the questionnaire page and
- Must include the doctor signature and Health Care Provider Name and Address
- TB Risk Assessment Form
- Incomplete TB tests will result in a delay in the process.
FINGERPRINTING CLEARANCE (IF NECESSARY)
All volunteers who are driving or chaperoning on field trips will need to be fingerprinted. You will need to take a photo I.D. and Social Security Number along with the Sunnyvale School District Fingerprinting Form to a facility to be fingerprinted.
