Student Recognition

  • San Miguel students are recognized at our monthly trophy ceremonies and also at awards ceremonies at the end of each trimester.
     
     
    Citizens of the Month
    Students are recognized for exemplifying the character trait of the month.  Our character traits are: Respect, Responsibility, Citizenship, Caring, Fairness, Honesty, Self-Discipline, Empathy, Cooperation.
     
     
    Perfect Attendance
    Students who achieve perfect attendance at the end of each trimester and at the end of the year will receive special recognition.
     
     
    High Five
    Students who put in a great deal of effort, perseverance, determination to learn and succeed in school.  These students exemplify kindness and Shark Pride.  They are recognized at the end of each trimester.
     
     
    Honor Roll
    Students in 2nd to 5th grade who achieve Proficiency (4s) and Advanced Proficiency (5s) are recognized for their academic achievements.
     
     
    Young Author's Fair
    Students in 1st-5th grade who have shown their writing skills.  Each class awards a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place at the end of the year for books written in class after the annual author visit.   
     
     
    Reclassified English Learner Students
    Students who are designated as English Learners who have achieved English proficiency are reclassified.  There is a special reclassification ceremony for students and parents at an ELAC meeting as well as recognition at the end of the year.
     
     
    Junior Coaches
    Students who have been nominated and participated in the Playworks Junior Coach Leadership program.
