Safe Routes to School

  • PROTECT YOUR BRAIN: WEAR A HELMET!
Wondering why it’s important to wear a helmet? Wearing a properly fitted helmet reduces the risk of head injury if involved in a crash. YOU CAN LEARN IMPORTANT LIFE SKILLS WHILE WALKING AND BIKING TO SCHOOL
Teaching your student to walk or bike to school safely instills important life skills and independence. Practice walking or biking with your student so that they become familiar with their neighborhood, know which route to take to school, how to safely cross intersections, and how to interact with drivers as well as bicyclists on their route. When they’re ready, help your students develop confidence and independence by teaching them how to walk or bike to school on their own!
