Mr. Edward Kerr
I began my teaching career at Cumberland in 1999, and have taught either 3rd, 4th, or 5th grade. I’ve also worked for the Palo Alto School District teaching Math Enrichment, the Sunnyvale School District teaching reading fluency and reading comprehension, and the De Anza College Cupertino Summer Enrichment Program teaching accelerated writing and math. For three years I lead the Math Olympiad Program at Cumberland. I graduated from San Jose State University with a degree in Liberal Studies, a minor in English, and continued at SJSU for my Multiple Subject Teaching Credential. A few years ago I earned my Master’s Degree in School Administration from Santa Clara University. My wife and I have three children, Emma, Claire, and Liam. We also have an Australian cattle dog named Magnus who loves to play fetch.
My teaching strategy is very simple. I set high standards - but try to make things easy for your child. I use fun, interactive teaching models, and inspire students to always do their best.
