Welcome to the Sunnyvale School District!
Our mission is to provide every student with a strong foundation of academic, behavioral, and social-emotional skills to prepare them for success in a diverse, challenging, and changing world.
The Sunnyvale School District team includes 992 highly qualified educators, administrators, and support staff whose primary goal is to enable the approximately 6,000 students enrolled in our schools to achieve academic success.
Our district is comprised of a comprehensive preschool program, eight elementary schools serving students in kindergarten through fifth grade, and two middle schools serving students in sixth through eighth grade. Sunnyvale is located in the northwestern section of Santa Clara County, in the heart of Silicon Valley.
We welcome and value your involvement in your children’s education and our community’s schools, and we hope that this site helps you to learn more about who we are, what we do, how we work, and the important role you play in our success.
Please ask staff at your child’s school about information and events specific to your school, and we invite you to contact us here at the district by email or phone (408) 522-8200, ext. 1016, if you have questions or feedback for us!
Here's a glimpse into what SSD is about:
