We are delighted to have a strong cadre of parent volunteers working within our district in a variety of ways, ranging from helping to plan for future years to working directly alongside children in the classroom. Every bit of parental involvement is valuable to the district and we greatly appreciate the opportunity to partner.
Formal opportunities include the District English Learner Advisory Council (DELAC) at the district level, and additional options for involvement at each school site, ranging from serving as a member of the school site council to participating in your school's parent-teacher group, providing financial support, volunteering on campus, and driving on field trips. If you would like information about how you can be involved at your child’s school, please visit your school's website or contact your principal.
To take your involvement even further, you may want to consider enrolling your child at Fairwood Explorer Elementary, Sunnyvale’s own parent participation school. At Fairwood, parents work in a variety of roles, directly in the classroom, coordinating field trips, planning special projects, and more.
