-
Kids Learning After School (KLAS) provides a safe and enriching environment for students to receive help with academic, physical, and arts enrichment activities, which are based on the needs and interests of participating students at seven school sites within the District: Bishop, Ellis, Fairwood, Lakewood, San Miguel, and Vargas Elementary schools and Columbia Middle School. Students are welcome to join KLAS to improve academic achievement and self-esteem and enjoy the fun and enriching learning activities.
The program is partially funded through a grant from After School Education and Safety Program (ASES) and all students are eligible to participate based on availability and teacher recommendation. For more information, please contact your school principal directly.
KLAS program goals include:
- Supporting student academic achievement to meet state standards
- Increasing self-esteem and improving life skills
- Offering positive interaction in a safe and enriching environment
